BachRescue Plus Sleepreview

Great flavor, effective, but are flower essences too woo woo for you you?

Overall

Melatonin with the homeopathic balm of wildflower essences? We're into it. Bach is a brand we love (Rescue Remedy for all!), and we also appreciate that this is vegan.

Effectiveness

2.5 mg of melatonin per gummy plus a plethora of soothing botanicals: Star of Bethlehem, Rock Rose, Cherry Plum, Impatiens, Clematis, and White Chestnut. We are complete.

Tastiness

Not the most original flavor, but this is a bright and fruity strawberry that's not too sweet or cloying. It's a fresh as a Bach wildflower.

Bang For Buck

These are on par with other gummies with comparable melatonin amounts, plus you get the flower power and all the Bach sorcery that comes along with it. A total dream gummy. if you will.

Here in the Gummy Galaxy, we’re big fans of Bach Rescue remedy in general (special shoutout to the Bach Black Currant Stress Rescue Pastilles), and Bach Rescue Plus Sleep Gummy is no exception.

This adorable gumdrop has a (sweet) strawberry flavor and 2.5 mg of melatonin per gummy, which is plenty to send you to dreamland.

👉  If you’re new to Melatonin Life, we highly recommend you start with our in-depth exploration into melatonin. We break down the potential benefits and side effects. Plus you’ll have a much better understanding of why it’s a great addition to your nightly routine!

But the melatonin is just the tip of the dreamberg!  These stand out because, unlike other popular melatonin gummies running around out there, the Bach Rescue Plus Sleep Gummy also includes Bach’s signature flower essences, a lovely addition if you’re interested in the subtle effects of working with plant extracts.

Included in this powerhouse gummy are Star of Bethlehem, Rock Rose, Cherry Plum, Impatiens, Clematis, and White Chestnut. If this doesn’t mean anything to you yet, read on!

flower essences

Now, you might be asking, what is “working with flower essences”?  Why do I need some Impatiens with my melatonin? Don’t those touch-me-nots belong on the veranda?

Not necessarily! Plants are powerful beings that can do many things! If you’re not familiar with the Bach approach to healing, then strap in for an intriguing journey:

Dr. Bach was a British physician who took a unique approach to addressing the maladies of his patients. He thought that if he could address the emotional distress in his patients (i.e. stress, anxiety, fear, depression), this would help prevent actual disease, which he considered the last result of a malady that began in an emotional imbalance.

He developed a system of 38 different plants and flowers to address 38 different negative emotional states,  to restore mental and emotional balance. The idea behind his theory of flower essences is essentially (ha!) this: taking pharmaceuticals to address physical disease only suppresses the symptoms. They don’t address the root cause of an illness head-on.

Flower essences, according to Bach, resonate with the emotional vibration and caliber of your body, not the biochemical one. It’s a venerable theory: the history of working with flowers to heal the body dates back all the way to the Ancient Egyptians.1

Bach Essences uses only wildflowers, which are either boiled, or sun-steeped in spring water. And the best part is that these are entirely safe for the body. There’s no worry that you will take too much, or that there will be unappealing side effects.2

This approach towards emotional wellness makes it perfect for a sleep gummy, because part of the healing power of sleep is deep emotional processing.   Who wants to wake up in the middle of the night with a panic attack? Not us.

homeopathic similarities

Flower essence healing is similar to homeopathy in that it uses subtle amounts of natural substances to stimulate and encourage the body to heal itself.  The primary difference is that homeopathy uses minerals to directly address physical symptoms, flower essences address emotional ones.3  A wild claim, to be sure, and we don’t want to wade into the debate too deeply.  But honestly, we have personally noticed results with other homeopathic products, and have reviewed some great ones we love here and here.

As long-time cosmonauts and gummynauts, we embrace the woo. We love the Bach Rescue Plus Sleep, and find ourselves coming back to it over and over again.  It’s not just the hit of melatonin: sometimes we even just take half of one gummy (which is only 1.25 mg!) because something about these is super powerful.

They’re also very affordable, plus the additional flower essences always make us feel like we’re doing something good for ourselves. And that, friends, is sometimes good enough at the end of a long day. 😵😴🌙

I wasn’t sure that melatonin even worked having grown accustomed to stronger herbs like Ambien over the years. But these worked like a charm. They also contain a relaxing blend of L-theanine and botanicals like chamomile and lemon balm for extra goodness.

It’s hard to think of anything we love more than a CBD gummy, except for maybe a melatonin gummy (always seeking that perfect night’s sleep!). So we are completely beside ourselves to have a gummy that combines two of our favorite things in the world: CBD & Melatonin. A more chilled out marriage could not […]

You’d have to be living under a rock if you’ve avoided the long arm of The Sugar Bear for this long. We have to say, we were resistant to the pull of this ubiquitous brand. We didn’t want to believe the hype. But as explorers whose lifelong quest is the perfect sleep gummy, it was […]
