Effective way to get a TON of green magic in a delicious but comically large gummy

Overall

An easy way to get your daily leafy greens and superfoods. It's wild that there's so much packed into these.

Effectiveness

Filled with spinach, wheatgrass, kale, blue green algae, spirulina, chlorella, barley grass, and aloe vera, these give you a potent dose of plant magic.

Tastiness

Earthy, vegetal but sweet-ish apple taste that we (and most people) love, but can be polarizing.

Bang For Buck

At $55/bottle, these are pretty pricey. But the efficiency & ease of getting so many greens might just make it worth it.

Sometimes it feels like we can never get enough greens!  We love them all, whether in salads, sauteed, juiced, you name it.  Give us that sweet, sweet chlorophyll.

And the 8Greens gummy is like the Mount Olympus of the green goddesses: Spinach, Aloe Vera, Wheatgrass, Kale, Spirulina, Chlorella, Blue Green Algae and Barley Grass, all packed into a potent little gummy.

In just two gummies, these boast:

  • As much Vitamin B5 as 15 cups of broccoli 🥦
  • 3 oranges worth of Vitamin C🍊
  • The same amount of Vitamin B6 as you would find in SIX cups of spinach🥬
  • Vitamin B12 equivalent to 7 cups of milk 🥛
  • As much Zinc as 3 cups of peas💚

We also noticed that their proprietary blend includes that golden anti-inflammatory root of magic: turmeric. These are the gummies that keep on giving.

So of course we had to get some.  Let’s take a bite, shall we?

Tasting notes

So, we’ve seen some comments out and about on the internet about the taste of these. A lot of people love it, a lot of people don’t.

We had prepared ourselves for a mouthful of horror (we’ve been there), but these turned out to be really pleasant. Yes, they’re a little earthy, with strong notes of chlorella and wheatgrass on the top. It’s hard to overlook these dominant vegetal flavors.  We mean, they’re called 8greens!  That’s what’s in them!

But make no mistake: these do contain organic cane sugar, and the lingering sensation is that of sweetness. Not a saccharine sugar blast, but a more subdued, honeyed aftertaste, like a bright banana or ripe kiwi.

It’s worth acknowledging that the smell when you first open the bottle is pretty strong, and possibly contributes to people’s reaction to the flavor. But that’s actually what we love about these. There’s no frankenflavor concoction of ingredients made in a lab. These taste like what they are, unabashed superfoods.

The other noteworthy thing is that they’re comically large. Like Looney Tunes cartoon gummies, except they’re kind of a grody brown color with a giant “8G” stamped in the middle, which only adds to the comedic effect.

Something this large and hefty should be swirly pinks and stamped with rainbows, but no, we have the most assertive, serious, green gummy out there. You know these are no-nonsense.  We honestly find it endearing.

These are an absolutely potent and powerful blend of so many vital nutrients and superfoods that keep you healthy, energized, balanced and strong.

We are huge fans of these, and are completely elated that these earthy, chewy green gems found their way into the gummy cosmos.

Plus, we love that this is a woman-founded company. Dawn Russell is a mother, cancer survivor, and all-around badass! You can read a little more about her here if you want to get super inspired!

Important to note that these are limited edition, so get ’em from 8greens while you can!  If you missed them this time around, 8greens also makes effervescent tablets.
